We are in Southern Thailand now, on an island called Koh Pha Ngan. We are staying in a little bungalow by the beach where we literally have geckos living inside of the walls. They come in many sizes, and mostly come out if you are sleeping or otherwise holding still for a very long time. They chirp to each other at night. I very much enjoy unlocking our door very quietly and then flinging it open to see the many geckos on the wall stunned and staring before they scurry into the cracks and vanish. Sometimes I try to catch them. Sometimes I take photos. Sometimes I use the flash when I take photos and then try to catch them while they're dazed until Simon reminds me to leave nature alone.
Last night at the last minute we opted out of the famous/notorious Full Moon Party on the Southern beach of this island and instead ate lots of spring rolls and finished our books. How old are we again?
Also we killed this in our bathroom in Bangkok before we left. And by we I mean Simon. HOLY WHIP TAIL SCORPION ALERT.
"We have safety box. imyou can leave portant thaing."
Our quaint little bungalow.
The other, much nicer bungalows. Ours is better though because our roof is made of leaves, who cares if we had to run around with buckets and towels when it rained last night.
It's pretty awful here.
My favourite thing our wall geckos do... they put their little hands up and then they peek over.
Why is it upside down? Who cares? LOOK HOW FUNNY HE IS.
Such a bad picture, but this one is our favourite bro. He is about a foot long. I didn't even know geckos could get that big.
Sneaky beside the sink gecko.
This spider is about as big as Simon's palm and we liked him because he just sat outside all day in the same place. It rained hard last night and he vanished. We don't like him as much anymore.
Another, smaller buddy.
This spider was bigger than my hand. I do not like this guy.
But I like this guy.
THOSE SPIDERS ARE SO HUGE.
ReplyDeleteI can't believe you're making so many gecko friends. I'm trying to hold back my jealousy but as you can see, I'm having a hard time. Haha.
Simon looks like a famous author in that picture.
When will you be back in my arms!?!?!?
